Detection and Control of Flammable Substances

This one-day course is designed for personnel working with or near flammable substances in the oil and gas industry. The course includes an introduction to flammable substances, principles of flammable gas/vapour detection, care and preparation of combustible gas monitors, interpreting combustible gas readings and control methods.

A variety of instructional techniques are used, including lectures, demonstrations, class discussion, group exercises and hands-on practice. Upon successful completion of the prescribed practical skills and written examination, students receive a certificate of completion.
