Confined Space Preplanning Entry and Rescue

The theory portion of the course deals with the OH&S Regulations as they relate to Confined Space, Recognizing and Defining confined spaces, Hazard Identification, Basics of  Staying Alive, Isolation and Lock Out / Tag Out.  The importance of Atmosphere Monitoring and Breathing Apparatus as it applies to confined space.  Determining risks, the requirements prior to entering confined spaces and rescue procedures.

The rescue portion of the course is the practical at the end of the theory.  It will give students an opportunity to use the different rescue techniques such as: harnesses, tripods, serty man system and breathing apparatus (SCBA, SABA).  The students will also go through a simulated rescue using the simulator.

Upon completion of the course students will receive a certificate that is valid for three years.
